- Cleveland, OH—The Lincoln Center theaters’ attendance took a hit in the years following World War II. After a fire in 1964, all of the theaters except one burned down. Through a grassroots revitalization effort, the theater district make a comeback and now attracts more than one million guests per year.
- Charlotte, NC—Tryon brought his family to Charlotte, in the expectation of taking over the governorship from Arthur Dobbs. However, Hobbs refused to leave so Tryon was relegated to the position of Lieutenant Governor for a few months. Finally, in 1765, the King promoted Tryon to Governor.
- Omaha, NE– Creighton University enrolls 8,393 graduate and undergraduate students on a 140-acre campus just outside Omaha’s downtown business district.
