Health Tech: HST Pathways moving to Nashville, AI & diagnosis, and R&D

Silicon Valley-based health tech firm HST Pathways is moving its headquarters to Nashville because of the city being a hub of health care companies and health care innovation. The company opened a satellite office in Nashville five years ago.
Mayo Clinic has shared the results of a study indicating an AI algorithm could be used to improve diagnosis of a certain type of heart disease. The algorithm uses the EKG (a less expensive test than an echocardiogram) to screen for potential cases of low ejection fraction.
Global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has acquired a majority interest in Icario, a Minneapolis-based health action company that offers solutions leveraging behavioral and data sciences to help make people healthier.
